Final Statement: Son of a Serendipitous Glitch

For this project, my main goal was initially to experiment with AI image generation and see what kinds of ways I can corrupt the images I got. The assignment was to embrace the chaos and randomness of glitch art and AI art, and I took that as far as I could go. While doing this, I saved certain images that spoke to me, whether that be an aesthetic, style, or theme that resonates with me, but the issue that came up was that the randomness of the AI art combined with the randomness of our glitch techniques made it difficult to draw a consistent theme across all of my finished images.

I had some images that were centered around nature, some around culture, and some around technology.

I had some over-saturated images, and some with very little color.

I had some images that evoke feelings of joy, despair, and everything in between.

When I was finished and had several images that all spoke to me, there were multiple aesthetics, styles, and themes, none of which I wanted to leave out of my final digital gallery. I had grown too fond of the various groups of images to let them go unseen. That is when I realized that this was always the point of my art. I had forgotten to embrace the chaos of the process that went into creating these images. If we want to use AI and glitch art to say anything profound about the world, the message is that the world is a chaotic place full of emotion, commotion, confusion, color, and beauty. If you are willing to give up control to the hand of the universe, you must not refuse to accept the cards you are dealt. When life gives you lemons, make lemonade. When life gives you bowling balls, you'll need to figure it out for yourself.
