About the Artist...
Hi, I’m Michael.
I'm a mechanical engineering student, so I haven't had a ton of academic opportunity to produce art, but outside of school, I thoroughly enjoy exercising my artistic vision. I was lucky enough to take Digital Art 1 a few years ago, and I'm excited to dive into the second leg of the course. From DA1, Im particularly proud of my Photoshop series of Duncan The Dolphin, an alcoholic dolphin that loves surfing, cargo shorts, dubstep, and cornrows. I'm also proud of my animated video of me doing skateboard tricks in the afterlife. Aside from DA1, I try to dress myself and decorate my living space to fit my personal aesthetic. I've done a little series of painting three pairs of white canvas Vans shoes, and I plan to paint more in the future.
Despite studying mechanical engineering, I'm currently pursuing a career in event production, and particularly in stage design and lighting. My motivation to pursue this field stems from my interest in bass music and the visual aspect that goes along with a great dubstep show. It would be a dream come true to tour with my favorite bass artists and contribute to their visions. One of my biggest inspirations from this vein of music is Ganja White Night. They have amazing visuals, designed by an artist by the name Ebo.
In summation, I really like bright colors along with a black or white background for contrast and I really like bass music and the visuals to go along with it. I also love ski graphics, clothing, and vibrant room decor. Though I have an established aesthetic, I will do my best to be open-minded and explore new avenues of artistic expression throughout the semester. I can't wait to get started.
